Oil degrades over time in the engine; with condensation acids form, etc. Even with not many miles, I would change the oil annually at least.

It can go 1000 or so miles on the oil, or you can never change it and ride it until it locks up.
If it is running a little odd, clean the air filter and get a new spark plug.

Call Honda and ask what the service interval is. It's always operating hours and not "miles".

If you dog it out then once a day might be appropriate. If you take it to church on Sunday, then once a year might be good,

Good Luck!

I would change it every 500 miles, change it now.... oil is cheap, cheaper than a new engine anyway.....
