I am 14 weeks and today I have been feeling a burning and aching feeling low in my abdomen with some sudden pains on my right and left sides. The burning is off and on and so is the pain. Is this round ligament pain?

Yes it is. Its normal. The burning is most likely your skin irritated from stretching and growing, put some lotion on it to minimize scarring. The sharp pains and aching is normal for ligament pains, which is also normal for 14 weeks. its probably not round tendons, those tend to happen a little later, and they hurt so bad it takes your breath away. But everyone is different.

A really wise answer I recieved once, was, with pregnancy, you can't specify what is normal, because there is a vast range of normalcy when it comes to expectancy and symptoms. However, from my experience, I am currently 9 weeks pregnant, and on high risk due to losing my son Taylor at 35.5 weeks during our last pregnancy. I was referred to the ER for an ultrasound because I experienced mild cramping in my lower abdomen, accompanied by a burning sensation and a warmth. I wasn't sure what it was. We found out that I have a cyst on my right ovary, this is known to me quite common in pregnancy. Dr. believes it will dissolve on it's own, and says it typically forms from an egg that didn't become fertilized or something like that. It secretes hormones to baby while the placenta is forming. My suggestion would be to consult your Dr. There is no such thing as a paranoid or silly concern during pregnancy. I am tired of women feeling as if they can't listen to their own bodies which causes us to refrain from seeking medical attention. Your Dr. should at least be informed of your symptoms and concerns, maybe they will be willing to do an ultra sound.

Call your doc A.S.A.P so he or she can check you out. As long as you are not bleeding stay cool but call your doc.
