What are the benefits of decentralization, & how would you approach communication?

So let's see, could me and my 'Company' (might consist of say 10 or 12 others) could that be 'decentralised' ???
I think not.

Of course if my name was Alan Sugar or Richard Branson, then it's a different matter .. but guess what ? their Companies are already 'decentralised' !

So, what organisation do we know than is currently 'centralised' and might benefit from being 'decentralised' ???

Oh, ANYTHING being run by the UK Government ...

SO = conclusion = yet another 'homework' question set by a Teacher who knows nothing about Business and thinks everything is run the same way as the 'Education' system ...

I would prefer decentralisation because of the following advantages .
1-More autonomy
2-You can benefit from the local business opportunities
3-Staff is motivated
4-Expertise
But there need to be a good communiation which is the key.It can be achieved by having well developed network(LAN /WAN) system.
