We currently track employee time and labor and jobs performed by use of a handwritten time slip. The production order number is provided to the employee via work instruction traveler. The employee's time slip resembles this at the end of shift
7-0111-001-02 .5 hrs
7-0112-001-55 .25 hrs
etc.... you get the point.
This seems highly inefficient to me and the amount of time that goes into checking for mistakes throughout the entire process is monumental.
Upper Mgmt complains constantly that time slips are not filled out properly and blame operators, i feel it is more of a system issue because very little is standardized and there is a lack of procedures and understanding.
Anyone have any suggestions? Is there a more updated system or method available?
Thank you very much

Many companies are using bar coding to track labor. This eliminates typos. Most information management systems today integrate with bar code readers.
