Places with table service , and most places that use waiters are in the higher $$$$ bracket anyway .
It is more than just writing up orders tho ,
You need excellent attitude like you are taking care of favored relatives at home .
You need to get orders correct and all the side dishes / beverages seen to .

Ask your waiter friends to coach you first , then let you know when an opening happens where they are .

Cooking is so much easier than waiting table! But if you insist, learn how anywhere that will hire you, (casual dining Fridays, Ruby Tuesdays etc. is a good bet) The tips won't be great and you will run your butt off, but once you have learned the ropes you can move on to a higher paying (bigger tips) position in a quality establishment.
