I can remember when we were taught simplistically that osteoarthritis was simply due to wear and tear. It is now known that it is more complex than that and there can be an inherited component.
Patients with other types of arthritis such as psoriatic arthritis, gout or rheumatoid can also develop OA earlier.People with diabetes may be prone to osteoarthritis.
Other endocrine problems also may promote development, including acromegaly, hypothyroidism, hyperparathyroidism, diabetes and obesity.
Joints that are injured are more prone to develop OA.
Diseases causing errors of metabolism may cause osteoarthritis. Examples include Paget disease and Wilson disease.
Congenital or developmental: Abnormal anatomy such as unequal leg length may be a cause of osteoarthritis.

Some thyroid disorders can be cured, but many require lifetime treatment. Learn here https://tr.im/Qewb5
For example, sometimes early stage thyroid cancer can be cured by surgery to remove the thyroid gland, but you will need to take thyroid hormone medication afterwards for the rest of your life. Goiters can also be surgically removed and do not always recur after surgery. In most cases, thyroid disorders need treatment over a lifetime. However, with treatment most people with thyroid disorders can live normal, healthy lives.

many things.
malnourishment. Not being nourished when still growing can trigger all sorts of things when you get older, I had anorexia for years, and that was one of the problems with it, was that I could have been setting myself up for osteoperosis.
Lack of calcium. It is very important to drink milk, take calcium tablets, etc. This strenghtens bones, which is very important to making sure that you don't get any type of bone disease.
Also, caffienated drinks. caffiene sucks the calcuim out of your bones, so it is very important to fill up on dairy, and cut down on caffiene. (but its ok to have caffiene every once in a while)
you could also try looking up "osteoperosis causes" on www.wikipedia.org
