In my office buiding, the board of education has a couple of offices and yesterday these two people were talking about 2 married school principals having a very public affair.

Eavesdropping in an elevator would be if you were on the shaft of the elevator, trying to hear the conversation. But, if they wanted no one else to hear it, why talk about it in the elevator where someone can get an ear full. They could have just waited to get off the elevator.

It's not really eavesdropping if you're forced to listen. If people chose to discuss sensitive subjects in a public place they take their chances if it gets around.

sure... who doesn't but I take the steps more often then not (I hate waiting for the elevator) so I haven't heard anything good for a while.
