middle school?

this tuesday im starting middle school im nervous like hell do they give you lockers? is it like the tv shows?And do they give you hard homework? how about friends? please give me your advice

It isn't as bad as TV or upperclassmen make it out to be.

Just enjoy it. Remember your locker combination, homework is only as hard as you make it (re: pay attention and you'll get it, don't be afraid to ask your teachers questions if you don't understand).

Friendship advice: be yourself. That's the only way you'll develop friendships with other people who appreciate you for who you are. If you try to pretend you're someone you aren't, then you won't make good friends.

If I could go back in time and give myself advice, I'd tell myself to not be so hung up on what everyone else thinks about you, because chances are they aren't.

I was so worried because I had skinny wrists and ankles (stupid, I know, but it was real to me). What I didn't realize then was that I was so wrapped up in my own insecurities that I didn't have time to worry about anyone else's appearance.

Chances are good that the other kids you'll run into will be just as insecure as yourself. So they aren't even thinking about you anyway.

yes, they give you a locker. don't put anything in it til you're sure you can get it out again. is anything in life like a tv show? even reality shows aren't like real life. you'll be with kids you went to elementary school with, plus some new ones. hopefully, you'll have classes with kids you already know and you can make new friends. pay attention in class and do your best. how hard the work is, whether in class or for homework, depends on how well you understood what the teacher told you. don't be afraid to ask for help. that's part of the teacher's job. if you don't understand your homework, don't panic that you can't do it. just tell the teacher the next day and ask if you can have another chance. after the first week or 2, you'll wonder what you were so worried about.

middle school seems like a big deal to everyone at first, but u realize it was no big deal.

It is not like the TV shows or movies,.

the teachers are not freaks, they are just teachers, bullys cannot be found in most schools. teachers are usually in the hallway to make sure everyone is safe and going to their classes on time.

they give u lockers to hold your supplies, at my school there isnt a locker break after each class, we have breaks after every 2 or 3 classes.

friends, u will lose friends, u will win friends. let me tell you... its a jungle out there. ppl start cliques. there is a trend called being " popular ". u have to wear hollister or american eagle to look " cool ". but u dont have to worry about that, i tend to go with whatever i wanna do.

homework is not going to be that hard and u dont nessacarily get homework from all ur teachers. and they know u will have other homework so they wont give u as much. your homework shouldnt take u more than 1 or 2 hours every night.

( Tip: Dont act like a teachers pet, dont act like your all that, and be nice to everyone. )

these questions are on here all the time,and as someone who is in middle school and survived the first year,here's my advice,yes they give you lockers,no,it's not like the TV shows,the tv shows are fiction and not always true,about friends,just be yourself,be cool and you'll attract the right people,and don't get your head in a cloud and forget who you really are,and the homework is not that hard,if you listen in class,and practice it will be easy for you,but if you don't understand,just ask a teacher and they are always willing and able to help,trust me.so just have a good time and enjoy it,and you'll see ,after the first year you'll wonder why you ever worried,and it only gets better from there.

lol. Dont be nervous its only going to make it worst. You should have lockers, my middle school did. I wouldnt say its like the tv shows. Its all in how you make it. Homework was a breeze to me. Friends well your either going to fit in or not now arent you. If you had friends before now you should still have them now. I was a trouble maker that somehow still got good grades just stayed in trouble so yes it was the worst experience in my life. Its all in how you make. But ive always heard middle school is a nightmare (which in my case it was) but high school is awesome (which was for me lol) Anywho just kick back and take it easy. Dont worry about anything it will only give you ulcers which arent good.Enjoy life and dont let it get you down. But remember dont get mad get even. Its what ive always been told.

well they do give you lockers. i doubt that any middle school you go to would be like the hollywood tv shows. you have clubs and activities. middle school is basically an extention of elementary school with lockers and older people and yes they give you homework.

yeah they give you lockers oh and dont base your life on a tv show! the homework can be a little tough at first and you might see your friends more often or less than elemantary

yep u get lockers, be careful, im pretty sure u don't want a bottom one, (learn to duck your head out of the way of books) and be careful not to hit your head on the locker above. The first days are boring, it's all rules, introductions and so forth. The teachers will go easy on you the first couple of days if ur late to class, i get 4 min. between classes, idk bout you. Middle school days actually seem shorter than elementary school. Idk bout the whole movie thing, but if ur a sevie or sumthing and the eighth graders make fun of you, just laugh at how horrible the girls eyemakup make them look like vampires or sumthing. :) luv middle skool! hope it helps!

im goin to highsckool and we have a 3 day orientation where they have a run through of your ordinary day at skool and they also put you in groups so you can make new friends. but yea middle school is basically like getting out of the primary years and almost heading into highschool. its not like its going to get easier just be organised and pay attention, remeber to take notes in class. join clubs and stuff you make friends and its fun i guess.. lol. but yea schools not always like the tv shows it also depends on your school my school has pep rallies my old one didnt. just keep up with hwmk and youll do fine. GUD LUCK and always remebr this its ok to be early just dont be late! have funn
