No, pencils do not contain lead. They contain graphite.

Lol, this reminds me of my sister at school...

The girl she was sitting next to was chewing her pencil, and the teacher came along and said, "Don't do that, you'll get lead poisoning", so my sister looks up at her and says, "What from, graphite?" XD

So, yes, as the people above me have said, pencils have graphite in them now, rather than lead.

Bad to ingest. Bad to inject. Bad to have INSIDE you at all. It can lead to poisoning and death. But when used on paper, is it inside you? Nope :D AND ITS ERASABLE!!
