Because they feel the ability to recognize a spelling mistake or typo makes them smarter than everyone and thereby worthy of doling out their senseless advice. The "smarter" the person, the more I wonder how they even tie their shoes in the mornings (this is my personal experience).

That being said, it does annoy the p**s out of me when people type their questions as if they are texting. You have a keyboard, use it. There is a terrible lack of grammar in the up-and-coming generation.

It does annoy me sometimes. Not everyone can spell correctly, but they are still entitled to a voice, and others shouldn't mock them. But sometimes, especially when people are trying to ram an idea down your throat in an effort to make themselves seem intelligent, they deserve it!

We all make mistakes, but some people just thrive on them unfortunately. Even those people make mistakes.
It is rather petty. Lots of people validate their existence by picking on people to make them feel useful and "existing".

Not a psychologist here, but spent 6 years on psycho-analysis to help me understand why my parents are like that (picking picking picking....)

Yes, they are annoying.
They do it for a variety of reasons, mainly because they can. No one can bitchslap them over the computer, and they use it to be rude, and act superior, when they are merely showing how ignorant they are, and what a low opinion they have of themselves, and they reaffirm it by being trolls. They're families must be so proud of them.

Because some of us feel quite insulted when someone is asking us to take our time and talents to answer some dumb question and then don't give us the proper respect by trying to SPELL THE WORDS CORRECTLY.... it's really a nice thing to do... and we don't feel insulted.

Because it's really annoying reading something practically illegible because people can't be bothered to use the spell-check.
