I am ready to leave this world, but it seem like I have been in my twenties forever, When will I turn 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and become dead.

I am ready to see the afterlife, and I can't wait no longer.

I am sick of going to work everyday.

I am ready to get old and die.

Why won't time hurry up and go fast so we can die already?

Time is taking too long.

I suggest that you go into therapy now and not wait until you are 50. If you wait, you will regret not having gone now.

I know a guy who felt the same way you are describing. When he turned 50, he finally decided to go to psychoanalytic psychotherapy. After 2 years of therapy & some medication, he feels much different. He is like a new person.

However, he says he is really sorry that he didn't go when he was in his 20's. That way he would have been able to enjoy life all those years. He knows he can't change that, and says he will make the most of the next several decades, God willing.

Also, what makes you think you will get old & die? How do you know you won't die tomorrow? Or tonight?

Instead of feeling sick of going to work every day, why don't you give that some thought. What about being grateful that you are able to work, or that you have a job in the first place? You could have several children & a wife & be out of a job.

You could always go down to the Unemployment Office & look for someone who desperately needs a job and offer him/her your job.

Try having an attitude of gratitude.

You are ready to see the afterlife. What makes you think the afterlife is ready to see you? Since you brought up the topic of an afterlife, I'll ask you if you believe in Jesus and that He died for us, so that we might be with Him in the afterlife?

If you do, then you know that doing good works does not score us "brownie points." Doing good things does not earn our way into Heaven. Being a good person & doing the "right" things has no effect. We will be in Heaven simply by believing in Him as the Son Of God, our Savior.

However, if you do truly believe in Him & love Him, you would WANT to do good things, simply for the sake of doing good things for other people. We try to emulate Him, live by His teachings.

Have you tried helping others, maybe doing volunteer work? There are so many people who need help in this world. You could work in a hospital, doing a variety of things. You could work for a church, even if you do not belong to it. They have many programs, such as breakfast programs for the homeless & poor. The public school systems need mentors, people who will help children with reading & other subjects. There are so many other volunteer programs where your help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe if you take each day one at a time it will be easier. During each day, try to find some way to touch another person's life in a positive way.

You may find that helping other people will take you out of your own head, away from your own negative thinking.

I will also repeat myself when I say that you should still go to a therapist. I think it can make a big difference. I've seen it happen.

I'm sorry you feel this way.
