That is still unclear. It is pretty clear, however, that Thompson is announcing now because every minute he delayed (as in Tom) lessened his chances of getting the nomination. Most party regulars think he is already too late. As an independent I tend to agree. Behind the scenes scuttlebutt is that he really doesn't have the "desire" for it and what drive there is is coming from his wife. Not likely that a hen pecked Republican can get elected. The party already has a problem with its image of manliness.

All the socialist Dems are scary (especially "Hitlery," Obama, Edwards & Gravel). I like Romney, Tancredo or Hunter but they won't win. Rudy is too liberal. Ron Paul, inspite of the praises he gets here, is a nobody! McCain is toast!
