Corporate lawyers are the highest paid; however, you location (state) and place of work (two person office or law firm?) also plays a big role. As such, there is no way to give you an approximate salary.

when it comes to working for a firm that does corporate work, there are two major factors: firm size and location. generally, larger firms in larger cities pay the highest starting salaries. (100k to 160k). the best resource is www.nalpdirectory.com. you can search by firm name, size, and/or location. don't forget: firms in bigger cities often pay more due to the associated higher cost of living. making 100k in mid-america leaves you (arguably) better off than an attorney making 150k in NYC when it comes to what you can afford to buy (think house). when it comes to how much partners make, data is not as readily available...again, the same two factors apply, and the lawyers with the biggest books of business tend to take home the most.
