Tell him when he gets pregnant, he can find out. Ha ha ha.
No, seriously, theres going to have to be some compromise there. I'll tell you why I have decided to wait to find out the gender, and maybe you can sway him over.
1. Its more fun this way. Wouldn't Christmas suck if you knew everything you were getting ahead of time?
2. You spend less money on things you don't need this way. If I knew the gender of my baby, I would have bought more clothes than it would possibly have time to wear already, and I'm only 29 weeks. Babies grow out of clothes quickly, there is no point to buying a butt load of clothes. Buy enough gender neutral things to get you through the first week or two, then do all the cutsey shopping after it is born, when you can reasonably determine how much is worth spending and how much your baby can wear before it grows out of things.
3. You get more practical gifts at your baby shower. You know why people don't pool together to get you that $300 dollar stroller you really need but don't know how you're going to afford? Because they are too busy buying you cutsey, gender specific clothes. If you don't know the gender, you nip that in the bud, and force people to get you the stuff you really need.
4. People have a field day guessing baby's gender. And you know that one person that always knows everything who is certain of the gender of your baby (every one has one, mine is my aunt)? If they are wrong then you get to be all smug about it.
5. Irritating control freaks are irritated by your descision. Its payback time, you anal jerks! Okay, that one is my own personal, twisted pleasure. You can nix that one if you want.
Either way you end up going, you're going to get a baby. Thats pretty cool no matter what the gender.
Good luck and congrats!

Well, I tried to keep it a secret from my boyfriend, just for an hour to drive him crazy that I knew and he didn't know! I didn't last 5 minutes without saying 'he'. I think your husband MIGHT blurt it out, it's pretty much human nature. You should ask him to wait it out with you. Tell him that you want to keep it a suprise! Or you could get the ultrasound tech to write it on a piece of paper and give it to your hubby. Good luck!
We both wanted to know right away - I couldn't stand the suspense, and my boyfriend felt the same way. Unfortunately it was kind of a let-down because the ultrasound tech said he 'thinks' its a boy!

I just went through this with my husband. We already had a boy and a girl, so I wanted to be surprised with this birth. He wanted to know. I just KNEW it was a girl, so I felt like I didn't need to "know". When we went to have the ultrasound, he wrote down "Boy or Girl" on a piece of paper. He simply asked the technician to circle which one it was. He threw the paper in the trash after he read it. My husband was VERY good about not letting the secret slip. He kept it a secret the whole 9 months!
BTW - I was wrong. It was a boy. lol
*Thumbs down? For what? Oh well....

Well when u get the ultrasound done, let the doctor know dat u do not want to see the screen and you dont want to hear outloud what the sex of the baby is. But he can gladly show ur patner if he wants to see it. And they can wait for you to leave the room so they can talk in private about the sex of the baby. Dat way u dont know but ur husband will

Let him find out, but ask him to keep it a secret from you. Just make sure you let the person doing the ultrasound know that you do not want to know the sex. Maybe you can close your eyes and they can "show" your husband.

I chose to know so that I could buy stuff ahead of time ( I am a big clearance shopper so I wanted to be able to get things when I saw them). Also I just had a feeling of what I was having and I was right. It is possible for the doctor/technician to tell just your husband what you are having but I don't know if that is something you would consider, that is a big secret to keep.

If your husband could keep it a secret from you, the doctor could tell him, but not you. If that wouldn't work for whatever reason, just remember that you are the one who has to carry the little angel for 9 months. The decision should be yours, & your husband can wait. Good Luck & Blessings for the three of you.

Yeah, that will be hard for your husband not to accidentally slip and say he or she. We both found out just because we thought we could connect a little better with her and refer to her by her name....and I think we have connected with our unborn baby a little more now since knowing. Now, that may not be the solution for everyone, but I think it has in a sense made it more real for us and we enjoy every moment.
