I enjoy Guild Wars very much. It seems more action oriented than the more popular World of Warcraft.
There are three Guild Wars out right now and one expansion pack.
These are stand alone games, you only need one of them to play and it doesn't matter which one you get.
Guild Wars: Prophecies (or just plain Guild Wars)
Guild Wars: Factions
Guild Wars: Nightfall
Below is an expansion pack, you must own at least one of the other games to play it, and it only adds content to characters at level 20.
Guild Wars: Eyes of the North
NONE of the Guild Wars games have a monthly fee, and they can be gotten from $17 to $35 dollars depending on which one you get and where you get it. (Try real-world stores for cheaper prices. DO NOT BUY USED!!!)

It's definitely worth it. You can buy a campaign for about $25-$40 now.
...and the best part. No monthly fees. After you buy the game it's free.
