I contribute directly to the candidates campaign and definitely not the party.

I do bot since there are laws governing the amount a single person can donate. Thus you give 2000 to the candidate then 200000 to the party. If that guy wins you call in your markers for political favors.

Only to the Candidate.
NO party gives me adequate representation so they have failed to get my contributions due to their OWN failure to to represent what I believe to be good American policy.
Look at the popularity of Congress for evidence that my opinion is likely to be the dominant viewpoint.
