how do i find center and how do i know this is an ellipse, is this the general form of an ellpse.

The general form for an ellipse would be a*(x-h)^2 + b*(y-k)^2 = r^2.

The center of the ellipse is the point (h,k).

For the problem you have stated, h=k=0, so the center is at the origin (0,0).
