Yes its legal. If its only in the computer class, it is probably there to discourage theft or misuse.

What a GREAT idea!
It is absolutely legal. The only place a camera may not be placed is somewhere where you have an expectation of privacy. That could include restrooms, locker rooms where students are changing, and even fitting rooms in stores.

It is legal. You ar in a public place and cameras are allowed. You have no expectation of privacy in public unless you're in a changing room, shower or bathroom.
All other areas are fair game.
Hidden cameras are different story and are illegal unless you are notified you may be monitored by them

That was the past.
Now to protect all parties, cameras are everywhere. Most cameras aren't so discreet anymore. If they don't hide the cameras and everyone can see, hopefully it will make someone think twice about doing something they shouldn't.

how is it illegal.. it is not invasion of privacy... because you own nothing in that room... and it is public, so you cant say anything about privacy... because then someone could bring up the fact that they want one on one teaching, with private lessons... see?
and since school grounds are government/state property, they have the right to put cameras wherever they want except for the bathrooms...

What's illegal about it? there should be several cameras in all classrooms catching multiple angle shots.
Given the decline in behavior, respect for teachers, respect for other students, and overall interest in educating our youth you should be thankful those cameras are there.
You never know who's toting a gun. Or which students a teacher is dating.

It is legal and very important for saftey and security reasons. Even if you are not in a bad area there is violence, however chances are if they are only in the computer room they are to protect the expensive equipment that they let kids with no reguard for others belongings (you may not be one of them) to protect their assets. If you ask me, your school finally got smart.

Nope its legal as long as the cameras are not in private areas (like bathroom stalls or dressing rooms) they can record anywhere they want.

I don't think it is illegal and I believe there should be.
This would watch the teachers and how they treat students,
also how the students react and treat the teacher and others, so this can't be denied if anything is reported.
Now days we never know what may happen in our schools.
