Obviously, the electronic media more often go over board covering the celebrities. Especially for the sexy women celebrities who is popular throughout the world

They are supposed not to. But recent incidents proves so. Sanjay Dutt is convicted under Arms Act and got imprisonment. The media coverage from the court to prison as if he is a great personality who fought for some good cause. Media is not understood to have covered a convict who got punishment for his illegality.

Of course it does but here in the US, we are a nation of voyeurs. We love to gossip, watch the big man topple, and all kinds of not-so-nice things. We rubber neck at accidents. We look at gore and blood.

Thing is, and many journalists have heard this - the news/stories are just filler in between the advertisements.

As long as sex, and violence sell advertising, the media will serve it to us on silver platters.

I cannot understand the fascination (mostly young) people have for a bunch of ball players, minstrels, and play actors. Their livelihood is based on frivolity yet some people take them seriously and attempt to mimic and idolize them.
