It sounds to me like you just have some wires crossed.

If ALL you did was change your mouse, then you must have plugged it into the wrong spot. Or your speakers are't plugged into the right spot.

Two things to check in the task bar click on volume(run mouse over icon one will show volume) then see if by some chance it has been muted, if so un mute.

also go to control panel, click on audio/sound devices, box comes up with tabs at top, click hardware and the trouble shoot, if theres any probems it will help find and fix. (note on the box it usually tells if device is working also.)

hope this helps

Did you go from PS2 to USB (or vice versa)?

That can sometimes cause problems with programs fighting each other in the same priority level. Same thing happened when I plugged a USB keyboard into a friend's computer. (Mind, is was a different conflict, but the principle is the same.)

Hi - you should get the driver that suits your new mouse. If it is not listed on Control Panel go to the manufacturer's site and look there. Good luck - batami.

Did you knock loose the audio cable when you switched mice (mouses?)?

regrettably no. yet there's a software accessible it is named Volumouse. it is amazingly small and shall we you employ your mouse's scroll wheel to alter the quantity while your mouse is over the utility bar (the place the classes are indexed).
