You need a program or ripper to extract/copy DVD to HDD. There're several programs to do just that but this one is easy, small and free (or can use it to burn to DVD). You might need this to mount your ripped movie, watch if you want burn it to DVD (Daemon tools). Download this software player will play almost any media format files (if will love it)

use the Total Video Converter... there's an option to rip off the videos from DVDs including protected ones... download it and try it,,,
