They are currently 79-54. Due mainly in part to the A's underachieving and the Rangers sucking as always.

Must be nice to only have 3 teams to contend with and 2 of those are bad.

Relax! I'm not putting the Angles down. They have proven they can play with and beat the elite team in the AL. All I'm saying is being in a weak 4 team division has it's upside.

Angels are a great team so there record would be great no matter how many teams in their division.

You can put 13 other teams in their Division and guess what?!?!!? Only 1 team would have a better record, the Big Bad RED SOX. You can have 4 OR 5 teams in a division, if you are a good team with 4, you're a good team with 5

I agree with thinking that the AL West could use one more team and the NL Central could lose one, but, whatayagonado?
Every year brings different strong and different weak teams based on how much of a budget the owner has and how the hands are dealt.
With the Angels you see them beat the Yankees and fall to the Royals. You never know. Fact is, they are well rounded and clickin on all cylinders right now.

i think you forget a few things.
the angels OWN the yankees. the angels take them out in the playoffs
the mariners are battling with the yankees for the wild card.
oakland is not far off.
texas always starts out fast and fades.
the red sox are a tough win regardless where they play.
with the way the angels are playing only the red sox
can handle them. if the angels played in the AL east they
would finish 2nd to the red sox the yankees would be 3rd
plain and simple

Maybe the question should be why don't the Indians and Red Sox have more wins? Both those divisions have two sub .500 teams and two at just one game over.500. That gives each team the opportunity to rack up more wins if they face them more often, don't you think?
