the equation started as (x-3)²=4(y+6) and when i work it out i get y=x²-6x-15 over 4. I'm tryin to graph it but if i plug in 2 and 4 for the values of x, the value for y is the same for both of em. isn't that not supposed to happen?

Oh, that can totally happen. Parabolas are U-shaped graphs. All but one of the y values has two corrosponding x values.

It's not a one-to-one function, if that's what you were worried about.
