Smoking is not allowed on or near the grounds of every public school I've ever heard of. You should check the laws in your area.

As long as the teacher is not lighting up in class or around campus, I don't see a problem. Many teachers smoke. He/she probably has a cigarette on the way to work and smells of the smoke. Let him/her have her personal life and vices.

1st off , let me try to explain something to you. Your teacher probably bought those cigs and paid the tax on them. he or she has the right to smoke them since they paid for it. You on the other hand apparently don't like it ( even though you paid nothing). He or she paid , you didn't . What gives you the right to even say anything at all ? If you don't like the smell , get your lazy butt up and move away. After all , they (the smoker) paid so they have the right. You paid nothing and yet you want to infringe on my right even after I paid. What gives you the right to infringe on my right ? I paid. You didn't ..
And if you want to believe the governments argument that they cause cancer . Well let me tell you something . Check out all the perservitives(sp) they put in food thats approved by the government that causes cancer. Everything now days causes cancer according to our government. But now check this out cuz here's the truth. If the gov starts saying all these bad things about cigs and get the general public to go along with them just cuz they are the government and they get a portion of people to back them then they can justify raising the tax on them. Check this out . The government has raised taxes on cigs more than $4.00 per pack behind their propaganda . Who stands to profit from all the propaganda except the government . They know the people will pay for them and the government is making a killing from it. If they were as bad as the government tells the public , then wouldn't the government just ban them from our country and arrest people with them . Heck no , their making billions from them gby merely spreading propaganda. When I started smoking , I could buy a pack for 30 cents. Today , I still pay the 30 cents plus 4 dollars tax that the government gets.
Now , if you truely don't like smoke or the smell of it , I suggest you get used to it cuz they will always be around and you will always smell them . The gov makes too much money from them for the gov to stop them. So. get used toi it and stop hating people cuz they smoke. Good people smoke too.

YES! As long as your teacher goes off scholl property she is an adult and can smoke. Smoke tends to linger for awhile so I suggest that if it bothers you, sit in the back of the classroom. Or at Christmas, buy her a really nice smelly hand cream!

Yeah, I dont see why not. As long as the smoker is ove age it is their right to smoke. Although it may not be allowed on campus, the teacher may smoke at home and the smell gets all over her clothes......typical smoker smell.

I'm sure it is allowed, although your teacher should be told because the teacher isn't posing to be influential. Most people who smoke don't realize that they smell like it, believe it or not!

Teachers are allowed to be smokers. They are only allowed to smoke in designated areas (possibly in the faculty parking lot or somewhere else outdoors) but as long as they're not smoking in the school, then it's fine.

Teachers are allowed to smoke just not on campus. I can't think of a worse smell than cigarettes.

First of all, if you didn't smell cigarette smoke on your teacher, then you can't say for sure. Never take everything someone says as fact, even if they are a friend of yours. Secondly, your teacher is an adult, and as such, can smoke if he/she chooses, however unwise that may be. And, just because your teacher smokes does not mean it occurred in school. Maybe he/she went to his/her car on a break.

As long as the teacher doesn't smoke in class, or after school that you know of. If the smell gets too bad, then ask to spray air freshener.
