I have a boyfriend of 3 months now. I feel like it is not time yet to go to the next level and he respects that - but we do fool around. Whenever we hang out at his place and we're both turned on, he always asks me to wash myself first before he can go down on me. It makes me feel like I'm smelly or dirty down there, although he keeps insisting that I don't - he's just more comfortable that I wash it. I am sure that I am not that smelly or dirty because I wash myself everyday, morning and night. I am aware that women do have a certain smell there no matter how often we wash it. But it always make me uncomfortable when he asks me to wash it everytime. My previous boyfriend didn't mind about it. Why does he?

i understand how you feel..that would make me feel bad too. Some men just have either a really sensitive sense of smell or maybe it just makes him feel more comfortable knowing that the thing he is going to affiliating with is clean??? I had a boyfriend that always told me that my vagina smelled bad....and he was my first intimate boyfriend, so that made me feel so insecure and dirty...he would always go to touch me there and say...no i can't because you will smell up my house...that made me feel horrible and yes i did wash and with feminine shower gels and everything....but the man i am with now does not care. Have yall tried taking maybe a shower or a bath together????? if you want to talk about this further...feel free to message me, because i understand what a sensitive matter this is. I had no one to talk to when i went through that with that jerk

Maybe he's a germ-a-phobe.....He is scared he will catch some unknown germ or something. I am sure it has nothing to do with the way you smell if you already wash yourself daily. Sounds like a case of obsessive compulsive disorder.
My question is, does he go wash himself before you go down on him too??

Personal preference..... I was with a guy, we had cats, every time we got into bed, I would make him wash his hands before I would let him touch me.... I did not want 'cat' in or on me. I've never been really picky about anything else, but he loved those cats and some times just before getting into bed, he would pet them.
Don't take it personal.
