I am on birth control and have been for about 2-3 years. I try and take it every day at the same time, but sometimes I take it at nine, and other times I get busy and can't take it until 2 or 3 hours different. I don't have a routine schedule, so it's hard for me to find an exact time every day.
Anyways, onto my question. I had unprotected sex (I know, but mistake, one big drunken mistake night) and I'd not sure if the guy pulled out or not. I think he did, but I know that's not a gaurentee either. Also, I had sex the day before my period, so I know sometimes the days matter wether youre more fertile or not. My question is, how much of a chance is there I could be pregnant. I just over think things sometimes and am super paraniod, and I just want to see what the chances are and anything anyone can tell me. Thanks

The chances are slim. You're on the pill for this very reason, my dear, and most women don't ovulate the day before their period.

It wasn't a very good decision, but we all make mistakes. Don't worry until you are late because seriously it's not worth worrying about. You either are or you're not. And if you've been on the pill for two to three years that body of yours won't become impregnated very easily.

After a year of birth control it can take up to 5 months to become pregnant...and if you're on hormonal birth control they usually have a 12 hr. grace period where the effectiveness isn't lowered. Ever notice how on your pill pack info it says if you're late with one pill go ahead and take it and a back up method isn't needed? That's why.

Relax. Chances are this one slip-up isn't going to cause you a pregnancy. Just keep on taking your pills and you might want to go to a gyno anyway to get checked out for STD's since this was a one night thing and it wasn't protected by a condom.

Hope this helps.

Birth control pills do become less effective when you do not take them as intended (same time every day). It is a very bad idea to take your BC at varying times as you do. This can cause the BC's efficacy to lower to something like 85%. You may be pregnant, but only if you are super fertile or really unlucky. As long as you do take the pill everyday, you are still somewhat protected. I'm also terrible at remembering to take my pill at the same time- I recommend setting your phone alarm to the same time everyday- a time you are usually home. This is the only thing that works for me (I tend to forget my pill if I don't hear my alarm).
Anyway- with any hope you are not pregnant. But in the future you should realise that BC is intended to be taken the same time everyday (or within an hour of the same time).

If you are taking you pill around the same time each day then you should be ok.. as long as you don't miss a day or two.

I wouldn't stress about it to much. Just wait until your next period and if its not there then take the test.. you should be ok.

However you may want to check for STI's.. hey you never know with drunken sex

Even taking the pill as directed you still have a chance of being pregnant.

If you are worried take a test or the ECP.

i had 3 cousins that got pregnante on the pill.....and because they were taking other medications the pill wasn't effective and they each had beautiful babies but they now know to use condoms as well as birthcontrol pills or just get your tubes tied
