Tips for a "Guild Wars Factions" new player please?

Tough luck dude, assassin is the one of the toughest classes. Try creating other characters first and learn more about the game. Usually, people never stick with their first character, I had to go through 5 different characters to finally pick out the one I liked. Also, try joining a guild where there are active players who can help you.

One thing people never do is read the manual. Do it! It can help! Once you read the manual and play for about a couple of weeks you should be pwning with the best of us.

To be honest, an Assassin is one of the harder character types to play. They have very little armor so unless you are good at dashing in and dashing back out quickly, you're gonna find yourself killed alot. For this reason, Assassins aren't welcomed in a lot of pick-up groups often.

Once you learn how to play an Assassin well though, they are one of the coolest characters in the game. Its just that so few people learn to play them well.

My advice would be to pick a warrior or ranger (if you prefer melee style characters) to start. Once you learn the game, then go back to your assassin.
