I really hope this doesn't offend anyone, because that is not the intention at all:

Not to sound narcisistic, but people tell me that I am pretty all the time, and I know I am an attractive woman. But I have found that white guys always feel the need to say "You're the prettiest BLACK girl I've ever seen" or "you're one of the hottest black girl ever". I have even heard that from white women.

Why do I have to be pretty for a "black girl"? Why can't I just be a pretty girl? What is it with white guys and the need to categorize beauty??

It sort of ruins the compliment when someone adds that in, doesn't it? People should think more before they speak.

Yeah, I don't know why some people say that because it is a bit of an insult. It is like they are shocked to see someone who is black beautiful or hot. I don't know why some people just can't say you are pretty without adding the race part at the end of it. But I heard many people say that to others who aren't black. If you are beautiful, your beautiful it has nothing to do with race. I think some people don't know how to compliment someone who is of a different race.

Because they don't have any decency in how to just give a Black woman a compliment as they would their own kind.

When they say that to me, I just say, well, for a white guy you look average, just like the rest. Then they say, "Hey, that wasn't nice". I say "Yeah, what you said wasn't either". Then they start to think and jumble their words.

They are a hopeless bunch. It's always so deeply entrenched in their hearts to be stereotypical and bigoted and it won't ever leave. The ones who say that you know not to get into any type of relationship with them, right?

Trust..

Well, I am a "Black" man. And I would tell you the same thing, if you didn't mind being called "Black". You are a Beautiful "Black" woman. I think maybe you are discerning the intent of the "White" men complimenting you. Perhaps some do think that you are pretty for a "Black" woman.

Others, like me, may feel the need to denote your "cultural" designation.

But if you don't like being referred to as "Black", you should probably let them know that.

Yes but I have also heard black women say "oh that is one fine azz white man", I don't think that they mean anything by it. I think it is the nature of people to point out that you are different than them (such as the fine white man comment above). It's not that you a pretty "black girl" but that they are white and they realize that you are not. Not that that is a bad thing, it is just a thing.

there is your CLUE to let you KNOW what they think of the AVERAGE black female. I mean if they think you are the prettiest damn, imagine how AVERAGE the average black female looks.

I honestly haven't heard this just from white guys, im sure guys of any race would be disrespectful to women, but I can understand why white men would be the ones who say it most, I dont know how to explain but I do know what you mean. Its just about how shallow the person is,, and thankfully not all men are this way!

Oh my Goodness.. you hit the nail on the head! I HATE hearing that!! I know they mean it as a compliment, but it's so insulting. It's like they mean to tell me that compared to a white girl, I'd be nothing, but for a black girl, I'm pretty. What is that? I get this all the time from white guys and girls. WTF???

I hear people saying that to white women as well. "You look good for a white girl." "Anybody ever tell you that you kinda cute for a white chick?" "I've never seen a white girl that looks hot like you." yap, yap, yap............

I think people have a habit of teaching their children that their race is the best looking, and then they kids carry that attitude with them as they age.
