You plug the transmitter/receiver into the mouse port. You might have to put new batteries in the mouse. Another thing you will probably have to do is sync them up. There should be a button on the mouse, other than the clicking buttons, and there should be a button on the Transmitter/receiver, press those two at the same time and hold for a few seconds. Once those are sync'd up, then it should work. You also may have to install a driver for it, so hopefully you know how to do that, or the computer may see the new device and install whatever drivers for it that it needs.

Assuming that you have all the parts, go to the labtec website and download the drivers for your specific operating system. Follow the instructions for installation and plug in the receiver to your computer. Should be as easy as that. If you have trouble from that point on, ask again and we'll help!

It should be as simple as making sure there's fresh batteries in the mouse, the dongle (the separate bit that plugs into the back of the computer) is plugged in and can 'see' the mouse - line of sight is always good, and moving the mouse around.

If you didn't use a USB mouse before, it might be that you're running Windows 98 first edition, that doesn't support USB properly.
