how do i apply eyeliner to make them bigger..
i heard that brown eyeliner should be used and white on the inside

but if you were using only black where should you apply the eyeliner??

only the outside edges of the bottom and upper eyelids..
a complete line on the upper eyelid??
or all the way around??
should you apply it on the rims or it doesnt matters?

i too have tiny eyes and I learned in my cosmetology school a few years back to only put eye liner (if ur using black) on the outside edges of the top and bottom..when you do full lines it closes the eyes in..aplying it half way open the eyes up more..
and your not rly supposed to apply on the inside you should do it right on your lash line

have fun and expiriment..you'll see the differences when you apply it differently.

I have small, squinty eyes so I've had to deal with them a long time!

Black eyeliner can definitely make them look bigger, BUT, be sure that you're wearing some shadow too. I use dark eyeshadow, normally just black but sometimes plum or very dark brown. I put shadow on my eyelid (from lashes to crease), and then about half-way to my eyebrows from there. I blend it very, very well to get a smokey look. Next I put on black eyeliner, only on the outside of the eye, not the inner rim. I line the entire upper lid, and then under my lower lashes I only line the outer half of my eye (not all the way to the inner corner). Then I blend that line really well so it just fades away instead of stopping right in the middle. I find that lining my eyes all the way around makes them look smaller, but lining them in this way helps make them look bigger! Then I use black mascara on all my lashes, upper and lower. Sometimes, especially if I've stayed up too late the night before, I put light frosty pink eyeshadow on the inner corners of my eye ~ just a dab ~ and this helps to make my eyes seem bigger and brighter.

Good luck!

Dark eyeliner should be applied tight against the upper lash line only. Rimming your eyes w/ dark eyeliner will only make them look smaller because dark colors make things look smaller & because you will be creating a distinct, hard border around your eyes.

Some people apply white eyeliner to the inner rim of their lower eyelid to make the white area of the eye look larger. However, this is a sensitive area & there is a risk of infection.

Instead of doing that, try curling your lashes and then applying black mascara followed by a coat of dark blue mascara at the tips. The dark blue will brighten the whites of your eyes.

Keeping your brows well groomed will open up your eyes too.

I got these tricks from the tyra banks show and my own experiance because I have small eyes also. If you want to use black eyeliner:
Day:
1. Put a line on you upper lid from inside to out. where your upper lid ends go outside it just a little.
2. Use white liner on the inside rims of your eyes. (never on the out rims yikes!)
3. End with two coats of mascara on the top lash and one coat on the bottom focusing on the outer lashes.

Evening:
1. Do exactly what you did for daytime, only add a thin layer of black liner under bottom lash line.
2. Use faux lashes for extra drama.
ENJOY!
If you are not afraid of make-up you can do night time in the daytime with a nude lip.
( btw you can also use brown liner if you prefer, I prefer black)

Hi

If you have small eyes, and put too much dark makeup on, it will make them look smaller.

Makeup creates an illusion so it should be as subtle as possible.

I don't know what you coloring is, but if you are only using black liner, I would put it on the upper lid as close to the eyelashes as possible. Not too thick-and smudge it so that it does not look like a line. This crates a shadow and deepens the eyes.

Under the eye use natural colors-taupe, light brown-stay away from blue, purple or white- keep it natural to your skin tone-I would not put makeup on the rims, it will not only make them look smaller but can cause eye infections as well.

Softer shades on lips will help eyes pop more-as will softer blush.

Bobbi Brown books: Bobbi Brown Beauty and B.B Teenage Beauty are excellent sources for tips! Keep it soft and as natural as possible!

Good Luck! Hope this helps!

If you have small eyes like I do, only apply the white eyeliner really close to the lid from inside to outside then what I do I use dark gray eyeshadow on top very lightly and on the rest I use light eyeshadow to make the eye bigger. Black is to heavy and it will close the eye

in order to make your eyes look bigger apply a thin line of black eye line only on your top eye lid don't put it all around your eye because it is way to dark and you want to show the world hoe beautiful your eyes really are plus it will run as the day goes by...so your best choise is to simple apply a thin line on you upper eye lid...i know a lot about eye liner i have tiny eyes and i have tried just about everything to make them appear larger and that was the only solution with eyeline the worked...but if you want to try the natural look just apply mascara on your top and bottom eye lashes but be careful not to put to much on because you don't want your eye lashes to stick together.

I like to wear dark eye makeup for dressier occasions, but I've read that lining both your top and bottom lid with black liner makes the eye seem smaller. I still love my black eye liner, so is there a way for me to wear it without making my eyes seems smaller than they really are?

Actually lining both your top and bottom not only looks more finished but can make your eye look bigger. The key is lining all the way across. If you line just the top or the bottom, it can make your eye look smaller and unfinished. Try using different colors to really make eyes look larger. Line the top with a black or dark brown/black and line the bottom with a dark brown. Black on the top and bottom can look heavy and make you look tired. Also, experiment with rich navy and deep plums as well. Last but not least, wear at least two to three coats of black mascara to finish the look.

to make your eyes look bigger, apply some brown or gray shadow on your eyelid (gradually ligher as you go further up to your eyebrow) or shadow only upto your crease next, charcoal liner only on the upper eyelid. make sure you draw very close to your lining of the eye. (if you put it all the way around, it can only emphasize your small eye)
use a highlighter(very lightly) in your inner corners of the eyes.
last step is to use a lash curler and apply one coat of mascara that lengthens the lashes. try a l'oreal brand.
give it a try. hope it works on you!

Put the darker color on top of your eyes. If you wanted to use black, put black liquid eyeliner on top and then maybe dark grey liner on bottom. Stay in the same color family. You could also use brown and tan. Also, to make eyes look bigger, apply a little bit of eyeshadow (metallic, maybe?) to that spot on the inside of your eyes (between your eye and nose).
