I have 2 different monitors now. The first one will randomly click and the picture will shrink and then grow back in like 1 second and then it works fine again.

The second monitor I just plugged in, and every so often I'll hear a click and the monitor will flash for like a split second and go back to normal

Should I be concerned in using either of these monitors? Which one would you use if you had to pick?

It sounds like you are getting flashovers.

The high voltages in the CRT are arcing across the gaps between the electrodes. Depending on what voltage arcs to where you will get different effects.

There is no danger in using either of these monitors, the arcs are totally contained withing the glass insulation of the CRT and the circuitry should be designed to absorb the energy that gets out though the connections. It is just going to be annoying.

I would start looking for a new monitor. Partially because it is annoying, also at some point it may affect the electron guns and cause the screen to change colour or go out of focus.

it sounds like your monitor is turning off and back on. i would try a different plug. maybe it is your plug having the problem and not your monitor.
