They get bored of each other. In a relationship you both have a responsibility to make things interesting and stay in tune with each other. When people don't do this they get bored and look for something or someone else to spark their interest.

Actually there are many reasons for this. Although it is not pleasant to think about. Sometimes people just grow in different directions and no longer have anything in common aside from the marriage. They need mental stimulation. Or maybe you weren't as compatible as you thought you were when you got married. Another big reason. Actually I think the biggest of all is you take each other for granted and stop doing the simple things like saying thank you or giving compliments or even walking by and touching each other. Then someone else comes along and makes them feel good. It is something that every person needs, so that is what they are looking for. Last, but not least everyone wants to feel desirable and too many "not tonight I'm tired's" translates into I used to find you important sexy and desirable, but now everything else in the world is more important than you. Because you know yourself if it were something you wanted you would make time.

Because they stayed virgins until they married and now their friends are telling them about how fantastic sex is and they just AIN'T got any of the good sex. So, they feel like if something is that good and I'm missing out I want to go try it for myself., they reach out to the another party. They find out or rather find someone that will make think they have died and gone to heaven, so DIVORCE. That sex is the name of the game with it you are in heaven without it your in a living hell. That is why you need try the shoe on first before you buy it, because it may not fit.

People look for other relationships when they are married because they cant get all that they need from their spouse. Its impossible to find every characteristic you need in one person. Whether it be excitement, conversation skills, someone who can relate, or anything like that. The best thing you can do to prevent your spouse from cheating is to make sure they have friends who can fill those voids in their life that you cant. And if they tell you they need something from you be open it and and dont make them feel rejected with what they ask for. If you cut off friends they will think they need to find it in another man or woman......

Because they haven't realized the problems in their marriage are theirs to solve. They blame the spouse and go looking for someone to make them feel better. They never learn to be a team player.

There are many reasons why people look outside a relationship.
Pain, anger, resentment, revenge, loneliness, frustration are just a few.
Mostly its to escape their own lives.
