Yes it is true to an extent. It is usually used to correct a lazy eye or wall eye as some call them. When one eye does not point in the same direction as the other. The patch is put on the stronger of the two eyes to help make the weak one stronger. It will not correct vision.

Eh, I'm not so sure about that. It's true that if you have a lazy eye, and you cover the good eye, by forcing yourself to use the lazy eye, you are strenghthening the muscles of that eye.

However, I would think that if you are over-using a "bad eye" in the hopes of improving the vision in that eye, all you are going to do is strain it.

It depends on the nature of your vision problem. In some cases the eye can be strengthened through isolation practises

ER, I mean, yeeehaw! pass me the Bourbon

Actually yes, that's true.

Same works with your ears although it takes a lot longer to train an ear than an eye. Something to do with amount of sensory information, stimuli, etc.

God I am so smart.

well yeah, my sister had to wear a patch over her eye once for a whole summer. it worked, but only a little bit, and when you take it off, your vision goes back to normal.

My left eye is much worse than my right. I am legally blind regardless without my contacts... So even if I tried that I doubt it would do me any good at all.
