A weapon is a tool. How it is used determines if the prupose is evil or good. While few people in America have to use a gun or knife to put food on the table, there are parts of the world where this is not the case.
And you can kill someone with a stick of butter or salad. Tie them up and shove it in down their throat and choke them to death.

For me it's simple. Unless you are a chef/butcher etc taking tools to work, their is absolutely no reason to carry a knife in Britain. As for guns, they are illegal in Britain and again there is no reason to carry one other than to use it for illegal purposes (unless you are authorised to carry one).
If caught carrying either you should go down for 10 years, no early release. If caught a second time, 30 - years.
If the weapon is used (but not causing death or permanent disability) then it should be an automatic 20 year sentence.
If death happens, or damage that ultimately means the same, and it can be proved 100%, then I am for the death penalty. If it can't be 100% proven, then life meaning life.
I have had enough of the thugs and low life having control of the streets!

Unless the knife is a putty knife, table knife or the like, or the gun is a glue gun, water pistol, purpose-built for target shooting or whatever....
....oh, and as long as the butter or salad wan't made in China.

I've never seen a butter gun, but I HAVE used a salad shooter!

Guns and knives make very poor butter, but they make an excellent salad with a little garlic, olive oil and balsalmic vinegar!

If you couldn't go to the store and buy things to eat would you agree or if you had to defend yourself or your family would you agree . Guns and knives are inanimate objects that are subject to the free will of the person using them !
