When I am working on my computer my desktop screen get's wide, and goes out of focus, I can not see my start button or any of the icons on my desktop? Can someone tell me what is wrong? The desktop Icon and screen is fine when I first turn the computer on, but after working for a while it goes out of focus, to the point I can not longer see the start button?

why dont u restore ur system..................this shud solve the issue.........

Sounds like the high voltage regulation in the CRT is going.

When the EHT drops the electron beams get deflected more and the image gets larger. Since the focus voltage is derived from the EHT voltage if the EHT drops so does the focus voltage and your image not only expands but gets blurry.


Get a new monitor.

What kind of monitor do you have? CRT or LCD? If it's CRT, it may be magnets failing and may require a new monitor. If it's a LCD, it's likely that your computer is causing it. You don't want the latter. I surely hope it's a CRT because it's an easy remedy.
