My wife and I are both big San Francisco 49ers fans. We are from the San Fran Bay Area and moved to Columbus a few years ago. The 49ers are playing the brown on Dec 30th and are thinking about going to the game.

However a few years ago we went to the Bengals/49ers game in Cincy and it was awful. People threw beer bottles and snowballs at us. She called my wife a hore. Real classy.

Anyways, do you think it would be enjoyable or should we just watch it from the conformt of our local bar?

Why not? Those of us in the Steeler Nation always make the trip to those snake pits & we have had some memorable encounters with the supporters of those losers. At least the Brownie fans have some class & stand up for their guys, the Bungal fans are almost as comatose as Seattle fans. Try & hook up with a few more 49er fans before the game, safety in numbers! Go with a gang & you'll be OK.
PS: Paul Brown Stadium is in Cincy. Cleveland is the Mistake by the Lake or Cleveland Municiple Stadium

I don't see why there would have been a problem at the Bengals/49ers game. Usually, if the team is not a rival, there is a much smaller chance of turmoil occurring. But the fans in Cleveland are rowdy, and it's a December game, meaning it could have play-off implicaitons. It could also be so late in the year that Cleveland is out of it and many of the fans won't bother showing up. I would go and support my team but see what the situation regarding the teams are. Usually, as long as the opposing fans don't cause a ruckus, the home fans won't be too bad.

As someone going to the game I think you should be ok being that it is the 49ners and not the ravens or steelers.

Just don't bring a lot of attention to yourself, have fun with the ribbing. Do not get obnoxiously drunk, and keep the cheering and or jeering to a respectable level.

Depending on the record of both the teams that day the stadium could be almost empty to. If you can get tickets come to the game, but just be low key.

Oh and it is Cleveland Browns stadium. Paul brown is the cincy stadium.

You're going to have pricks like that anywhere you go....
It could be a crapshoot.....maybe you'll be in a section with a bunch of idiots
maybe you won't
maybe you'll walk by those same idiots getting around the stadium....maybe you won't

I'd support my team and enjoy every minute of the heckling....
(I wore my Penn State stuff in C-bus for the game last year)
some of it might not be the most fun, but when you win.....it's great (and let's face it....the odds are, you'll win)

If I survived wearing my Redskins jersey in Philly stadium then I’m almost positive you will be ok in Cleveland. You will also probably not be as obnoxious as I was and you will be with your wife. You should be fine.

Well they throw beer bottles at officials and the ownership SUPPORTS it, so I don't think I would want to go there.
