Very simple... Now the Harry Potter series ended so far, who will be your new, say substitute for the JKR void?

Mine would be the Babylon series by Imogen Edwards-Jones... I would recommend it to anyone!

When I finished reading the Harry Potter books, I was a bit stuck. Who would read now. I had spent the last 6months constantlly rereading the books. I reread Harry7 before moving on to a few I had been recommended by a friend. I read Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen by Garth Nix (all good books in the same series - Fantasy).

Next I have started to read Lord of the Ring by JRR Tolkien for the first time. I doubt whether you need me to say what that is about.

Then, I want to read the 'His Dark Materials' trilogy by Phillip Pullman which are again fantasy and about a girl who travels between universes and meets guy who she makes friends with, but the ending is extremely sad..... I won't say why in case I spoil the read.

I would recommend all these books to everyone!!

My brother is a fan of Stephen King and says he is a good but horrific read. However, I have never read him, so I cannot recommend....

I hope this answer is good. I will also have a look at this Babylon series!!!! Thank you--

Some more Fantasy writer's see:

Sean Russel - (trilogy) The One Kingdom, The Isle of Battle and The Shadow Road.

Christopher Paolini - (trilogy) Eragon, Eldest and the 3rd to be released sometime next year. visit www.alagaesia.com can read an extract of chapter 3 of new book.

J.R.R Tolkien - The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, Farmer Giles of Ham and tons more. You could even try his new book The Children of Hurin, this is set in the time before Middle-Earth. This was edited by his grandson Christopher and is a really great read.

I can recommend all of these, and hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

I heard that the people who published the Harry Potter books already have a new author lined up that writes stories about a teenage archeologist ( Indiana Jones-type) and his adventures. I'm really curious if this is true, and to read one of the books if it is.

John Twelve Hawks. He's written The Traveler and the Dark River. Excellent books along the 1984 vein.

Trudi Canavan has a great fantasy world but can get a little detailed and bogged down with angst.

Very much in love with Tamora Pierce for Wild Magic.

Hellbent by Anthony McGowen is pretty sick if you like that kind of thing.

J.D.RObb who made me fall for Roarke and Eve.
Terry Pratchett-- Always cool and hilarious.

No one will ever be able to subsitute JKR. If you've looked into her past you can see how hard and brutle her life of writing the first harry potter book was in poverty, and she's still my fav. author and my ro-modle.
