I tried posting this in travel & didn't get many responses. I figure there are other couples that have been that could read this and give advice.

I would like to have a nice anniversary weekend with my husband in mid October in a cabin or hotel or maybe a B&B that is closer to nature in Galinburg but still accessible to some decent restaraunts. I need a package that is budget minded around $350 if possible. A very clean, simple is place is fine. A jacuzzi would be a plus but it's not a neccessity. A comfortable mattress is a must.

The last time we spent most of our time hiking in the park and never even set foot in the touristy junk shops. I am hoping to go back and enjoy some of the fall colors, and relax. I'd prefer reccomendations of some places you have personally stayed in. My husband always is doing nice things for me I want to surprise him with something special this year. He really loves fall scenic views

I was hoping to spend that for accomodations for 2 nights 3 days.
I know food will be extra. I would be willing to stay nearby Galinburg.

I thought about the time share thing do you all thinks it's tacky to do that for an anniversary? The last time I sat through one of those in Hilton Head we got a choice of a gas card or free dinner too.

hey! me and my hubby go to gatlinberg every year!! we like to visit the pigeon forge area.... but october will be pretty busy in gatlinberg... we usually go around january.. its very quiet that time of year... but, to make it a more peoaceful trip... you may want to stay in sevierville, tn... its about 7 miles from gatlinberg... then, just drive to gatlinberg during the day its about 15 min drive.... and you get better hotel rates in sevierville, cause its outside the main part. and also, in october, you will pay a lot for a cabinn we went in oct '06, and spent $400 for one night at a cabin...and it was outside of town! so, are you wanting to spend $350 for the weekend, or per night?? ill search real quick and see if i can find a link to the place we stayed... it was a really nice cabin... it was really big...if i had it to do over, i would rent a much smaller cabin...

ooo, dont do the time share thing... me and my hubby went to one last year, and its awful!! they are persisten... one followed us to our car as we tried to leave after tellin her 3 times we werent interested.. then she got mad.. so dont do that...
me and my hubby stayed at a place in sevierville, and it had a jacuzzi tub, king bed, and was very comfy..... we paid about $100 per night... there are a few like that right when you pull into the town.. and what we do, is just drive around, and check different places... a lot of times you can talk them down...... eden crest was the name of the cabin rental i dealt with.

I used to live in Knoxville so we frequented Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville.
I really enjoyed staying in P. Forge at the Music Valley Inn- It is really nice. I have also stayed at the Clarion at the end of the main strip in Gatlinburg and a cabin called the "Bee Hive" in Gatlinburg. All very nice as well. We rode the lift and did some hiking and skiing.
A lot of places will let you stay for free if you go and sit through their 1 hour time share presentation. They want you to invest in a time share- YOU DON'T HAVE TO but, sitting through their presentation is a good way to get a free cabin!

rates in Gatlinburg are going down in Dec. However, if you want to see the fall colors . Most of the motels are much cheaper during the week. If at all possible go Sun - Thur and you will pay 1/2 of what you will pay on the weekend. Thus allowing for more money for romantic dinners and other "things" you might want to buy. I know that for $350.00 I could have a motel and take in a couple of shows and have moeny left over. Have fun and enjoy every minute

My wife and I stayed in a cabin in Townsend. If I remember right, it was just about an half hour drive from Gatlinburg. The cabins were very clean and most had an outdoor jacuzzi. I am pretty sure that this address will take you there: http://www.timberwindscabins.com/index.html. The rates were reasonable and we really enjoyed our time.

My husband and I have stayed in a cabin right outside of Gatlinburg in Pigeon Forge. The name of the rental company is Eden Crest Vacation Rentals. They have a website where you can look at all of their cabins and the prices. The cabins really do look like the pictures and are beautiful. And, Pigeon Forge is only about 15 minutes outside of Gatlinburg. Good Luck.

How about renting one of these cabins:

Looks great, and it has a Jacuzzi, and seems to have an excellent mountain view.

Good luck.
