tried using new driver software from lexmark and still no joy getting things like "device driver not successfully installed"

You might be having a driver conflict.. Remove your old printer driver, reboot the computer and try again.. Good luck!

Follow the installation instructions to the letter. If it still does not work, take it back to the shop and get a Brother or HP printer instead. Lexmarks are good but their ink is exorbitant.

do u have vista? we bought a new computer few months ago and the lexmark printer we found very difficult to install, did it eventually but dont ask how we just did. however sometimes it wont print, even tho theres something in the queue and it says no communication with printer, if you turn computer off then on again it prints everything in the queue. we found this by accident.

Install drivers first then attach printer and switch on and make sure the online light on the printer is alight.

Go to there website, try troubleshooting I think that you can let them repair your drivers online
