Try honey and lemon - AS HOT AS YOU CAN BEAR - if the hot salty water is difficult for you. I also highly recommend you take Echinaecia (builds up your immunity) from Sept to March only. I used to get lots and lots of sore throat trouble until someone told me about above - haven't had a sore throat for ages! Good Luck

Gargling salt water helps but I've never been able to keep it in my mouth for that long! Hot tea with honey is nice and let a cough drop melt in it too. It doesn't taste the best but it is very soothing. I hope you feel better!

Hot tea with lemon and honey is very effective...if you go to the tea section at your local store look for a tea called throat coat. It contains licorice root and slippery elm bark which help coat and sooth your throat well.
