I've seen quite a few opinions in this vein - not just about Mrs. Edwards, but Mrs. Obama as well. Since Sen. Clinton is a woman it's harder for Obama and Edwards to attack her directly without making sure they don't have a patronizing tone that some will interpret as them having because Clinton is a woman. Example? John Edwards commenting on Hillary's jacket in one of the debates. He was trounced soundly for it, and probably should have been. Have you ever heard any candidate previously comment on the color of a male candidate's jacket? So now Elizabeth and Michelle take up the slack for their husbands when it comes to Hillary, and it's working against them. People are starting to say who's running for office here? Elizabeth or John? Michelle or Obama? Bad, very bad tactic, in my opinion.

I feel just terrible for Mr. Edwards... he can't seem to win no matter what he does and I like him a lot.
I think that what you're talking about falls squarely into the hands of the Republican agenda... The way they attack his wife is unforgiveable.
MANY Republicans have switched to Independent or Democrat because of people like Ann Coulter and their vicious attacks on a woman who is using her last ounce of strength to support her husband.
That is TRUE family values and Republicans can't stand it.

Edwards says he doesn't accept money from lobbyists.
FALSE!
At least in part, because the STRONGEST lobbying group in Washington D.C. is his MAIN support! That is the association of TRIAL LAWYERS . The deception is, they are not a LEGALLY registered lobbying group so Edwards can say he doesn't accept money from lobbyists.
THAT is typical of the lies he tells. Give him credit for being a GREAT liar and deceiver.
USING HIS WIFE TO ACCOMPLISH HIS DIRTY WORK IS JUST ONE MORE DECEPTION.

Obama had his wife do it too.
It seems weird that a man would have his wife fight his battles for him, especially on a public stage that of the Presidential candidate stage.
Edwards: Honey, go talk some trash about Hillary!
Wife: Why can't you?
Edwards: I have my hair appointment today! *pouty face*

All I know is John Edwards had a fundraiser the other day and chief of staff to former US Senator Max Cleland and Edwards campaign staffer, Michael Duga showed up. Duga was coked up out off his mind and had enough marijuana to make Bob Marley jealous. He stole an SUV and broke into a Coast Guard station. I love it that Edwards surrounds himself with these types.
