I really think they are going to make a run for it in September and get the wild card slot. The starting pitchers just need to start contributing. Justin is the only good pitcher right now. Who knows what has happened to Jeremy and Andrew I think has lost his confidence. I think if Kenny gets back soon we can get there. The runs are there, just unfortunately our pitchers are giving up more.

Nope, not a chance. Seatlle and New York are too good and focused for the Tigers to get back into the playoff race.

Not at this point. Their bullpen needs to pull it together down the stretch or the Tigers aren't going to make it. Don't get me wrong -- I always root for the home team (except for the team with the NFL record for most losses), but Bonderman has been looking awful for most of the season and you can't rely on Zumaiya (sp?) to pull them out of the crapper every time. I'm keeping 'em crossed -- we'll see.

You have the Red Sox, Yankees, Indians, Tigers, Angles, and Mariners of which two of the six will not make the playoffs. Continue to pull for your team but they could have an up-hill battle ahead of them.

I'd have to know exactly what the Tigers' standings are
to answer that question. And I can't say I am not all
that familiar with the history of their franchise--except
to be aware that one of my all-time favorite players,
Brian Downing, long-since retired, came from that
team; and he finished his career with my personal
favorite team: The Los Angeles Angels (then the
California Angels); who are now enjoying the very
best season in the history of their franchise.
Anything's possible. But, that will have to suffice
as an answer to your question.

They aren't going to get into the playoffs! They had a pretty good beginning of a season, but started to shutdown at the end. I think Sheffield was a good attribution to the team, but it wasn't enough. Anyways they still had a much better season than 2 years ago, so no one should be complaining. You can't expect a team to do as good as they did last year.

If Kenny comes back, yes. And if the other lame batters step it up.Inge looks like Craig Monroe at the plate sometimes and they didn't trade him or send him to Toledo.Shakey Sheff will not make a difference. The X factors are Rogers and getting the bats to connect EVERY game, then we can get our revenge on Cleveland,Minnesota ,Chicago and K.C.
We got a very good chance.Keep praying for "The Cardiac Cats".

Gosh, I REALLY hope they can pull it together.
But things aren't looking good since they lost Sheff. A sweep by KC? That would kill the momentum and spirits.
Let's hope the Tigers can pull it together and make a run.
