In New York City, there's a abandoned "building bridge" spanning West 32nd Street between 6th and 7th that looks to have been abandoned for some time. It's about 6 to 7 stories up, and green from age. Literally the only piece of information we were able to get came from a kind homeless fellow who commented that it had been abandoned "for decades."

Any help anyone can shed would be greatly appreciated!

I know just the bridge you mean. I might have been connected to the old Gimbel's Dept. Store that used to be there. If I find out more, I'll add to my post.
Yes, it looks like this bridge connected the old Gimbel's to an annex building across the street. There's a very small photo on this website, right at the top:

I know the bridge as I used to live on west 35th between 5th and 6th but I have not a clue about it, I thought it was condemned.

Have you contacted the city public records department. Since I don't know what kind of info you want I don't know which departments you could call. Maybe the zoning commission or whomever handles your cities bridge maintenance.
