Putting Fox News aside from this discussion, because journalism is suppose to reveal the truth and they are as far from that as one can imagine, how can anyone say the news media is Liberal when it supported Bush throughout his immoral and criminal war, not asking any...any...any questions that would have led to Bush's lies and the saving of many American and Iraqie lives..

The news media is Corporate, their purpose is to support the bottom line of themselves and thier sponsors.. There is little room for the truth in that...Since most Corporations support conservative politics, they are conservatively biased if anything...

After the lies about the war, the assualt on the 4th amendment, the removal of habeus corpus, the loss of New Orleans, the appointment of an incompetent Mine and safety administrator, the multiple appointments of every loser from the Pat Robertson Clown college, The fed allowing ARM loans at high interests to those who didnt qualify, the revocation of the posse camatatus act that will now allow federal troops to squash civil disobedience, the Gonzalez appointmet, The tax cuts that gave only rich a break....and etc etc etc,

What is left besides Bush Bashing to report? He bashed the country any intelligent person is going to bash him back. That doesnt mean the media has a liberal bias.

People that work in media absolutely have liberal type beliefs because they are usually educated and smart.

Any intelligent person supports liberal beliefs.

However that does not matter one iota because the OWNERS and CEO's of these companies support the government no matter what for various reasons.

The government has operatives working in media for CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN The New York Times, Newsweek, Time etc...etc...

Other than in rare occasions such as watergate and the clinton-lewinsky scandal the media is obediant to the government ESPECIALLY Republican administrations because they are usually in favor of deregulation and that makes the 5 Media Comglomerates more money.

Sumner Redstone, head of Viacom, said it best when he said that he would vote democratic but his vote is for the best interest of Viacom (read: Corporations) so he votes republican. (and supports republican agenda's in his media)

The only thing the media is for is making money for themselves. It is all for the ratings.

That is why even when there is an important issue facing the nation it is ignored by the media and some spectacle is presented instead.

If it bleeds it leads.

I agree with you, but I have come to the conclusion that many conservatives either have fallen for some propaganda they hear from Rush OR they describe any media outlet that says things they don't like as "liberal." Sometimes the facts can be liberal! For instance, if they tune in to Brian Williams, and he says "14 American soldiers were killed in Iraq today," they decide he's liberal and the network is liberal because they're talking about the bad things in Iraq instead of the good things.

On Fox they hear exactly what they want to hear, so they think it's the only network with good journalism. Truth is, they don't actually know what journalism is supposed to be or do.

language has a different meaning than what you are assigning it to --

your definition of liberal is probably more a dictionary definition. a right wing view of the word means child molesters and baby killers. and the media is usually full of college graduates who are a liberal group in and of themselves -- ask anyone who didn't go to college about book smarts v street smarts. we are so self centered even the dumbest village idiot thinks he has enough common sense to run things better and justify his vote for gw bush.

mostly i think you expect the american population to be rational and educated. they are neither. they are feral dogs in a big pack. actually thats not a very nice to feral dogs. our educational system drops international ranking points by the day. yes we have the best universities but overall our university system is a money making scam on the part of the bureaucrats that run the schools. and that isn't even touching the grade schools.

why do you expect one of the dumbest countries around to be able to correctly define liberal?

Is the Dan Rather scandal what passes for the media supporting a GOP President with you libs? If you can't recognize that as bias then there is no point in discussing this further with you.

yea you're right when they are reading about the solders dying in Iraq i can tell they are really broken up about it with those big ear to ear smiles and the, but the Dems are challenging bush again, the economy is growing at its fastest pace in 5 years but its disproportionally again women and minorities. maybe someone could show me the right wing news stories on Hillary's campaign fiance woes? are there any? wouldn't know it by watching the news! maybe you would enjoy it more if we just cut out all the sports and weather and such and just did around the clock bush bashing?

You are absolutely right. The Journalist had an obligation to the people. When the president was stating all of his facts, there was no one their to ask him to back it up. No one asking the questions that were meant to keep the people truly informed.

However what we did was a paradox of reporting... "American deaths are on the rise..." "But we're totally still wining!!!"

No idea where you live, but there's no support in the media where I live...the daily news and editorial pages (you can't tell the difference) are non-stop Bush-bashing.

Do some research on who journalists vote for.

Think "Dan Rather."

Then get back to me with that "the mainstream media is conservative" BS.
