if it is a desktop computer, then you wont have wireless unless you bought that as a built in item. if its a laptop, then look in your manual or go through your software that came with it and look for a disk that allows you to reinstall drivers. or you can go to the manufacturer's website and look in their support section.
try using the connection wired by taking the cable that hooks to your wireless router and hook it to your computer directly...if it still doesnt work, then there might be somthing wrong with the internet itself. youll have to contact your internet provider

Vista is still relatively new. A lot of programs and files (specifically drivers) are not compatible with Vista yet. This is one of the many challenges Windows is having right now. I would wait it out, eventually there will be a updated driver. Or, you can check for yourself. Right click the "My Computer" icon, scroll down to Properties. Select the "Hardware" tab and click Device Manager. Select the adapter from the list, once you select it, there should be a click there that says "Update Driver".

Take it back to the place you bought it from and ask them to have a look at it.
Coz' certainly they made a mistake installing Wireless Adapter that is not supported by Vista and or Requires drivers (run setup from the CD that it came with).
Best would be to go and SCREAM at the place where you bought your PC. :D

Did you setup the wireless router or did someone else set it up? My initial thought is that your router isn't set to broadcast the SSID or that you have MAC address filtering enabled. My first check though would be to ensure that you have the wireless card inserted properly and that the device is enabled and configured properly on the PC side.
