as history and science has proven since the earths beginning, will the scientists who advance their theories as fact thereby costing people millions and millions of dollars on an issue we have a miniscule effect on be held accountable?... or will those duped into believing "man made" global warming throw a parade and claim that because of the efforts of a few thousand people in a world of 6 billion people they made the difference to reverse "global warming"?

univee... I never claimed to be a climatologist... however, anyone can read history and you don't need to be an expert. I believe in responsibility for things within your control. I recycle, I will pick up litter when I see it and so on...
Nice weak attempt at an answer for a question you can't answer.

univee.... this time a real answer! Thanks!... I do believe people can polute as well as our factories and industries... heck... you can see the smog surrounding certain cities. My point is... if you pee in a lake... it's not going to have much of an impact... some... yes... but not much. Do I recommend it? Not really but the lake will survive and it will even eventually disipate it. Nature produces more green house gases than we will ever produce. Now it's carbon, which volcanoes and natural fires produce.
Are we making an impact? In the smallest scale.... I even doubt that much. Globally speaking, geographical speaking, sure. I don't believe in claiming the sky is falling for an unproven theory. Imagine how hot it must have been during the first ice age. History.... along with the hottest recorded year in 1938, says there are a lot of scientists who are enjoying the grants for research and they are "selling" weak, unfounded theory as fact.

I'll go with number 2. They never seem to pass up opportunities to fly their Gulfstreams around, pat each other on the back, have a big concert, and sell a lot of pay per view tickets to foot the bills.

And you are some kind of expert?
I doubt it.
Anyway, I thought accountability was a quaint concept.

I'm sorry, but you are going by an assumption that I find absurd: that human industry... billions of cars, hundreds of thousands of factories and waste dumps, do not impact our environment. I'm glad you recycle; in most places, sensibly, it's the law to do so, so it doesn't seem like any major claim on your part.
But you are right. I can't answer your question, and that is because your question is based on an assumption I do not make.
No one at this point disputes that there is some sort of climatological event occurring on our planet. The debate has broken down to, have we an effect on it or is it a natural cycle.
However, since I consider mankind, with its factories and pollution to be a part of nature, like it or lump it, I think the debate is misdirective.
I am certain that if we lower the amount of carbon in the air it will have a positive effect.
You think otherwise.
The good news for people who take your position, is that you have all the momentum of the status quo behind you, so I can't really see what you fear, as far as this great economic hardship that recognizing the need for change represents.
Things will not change. Your side will 'win' the debate because people are stubborn. So chill. Whatever happens, you may be sure no one is going to have the power to change human behavior on any significant scale.

I am trying to figure out how the global warming nuts can not seem to explain that the hottest year on record is 1934.
I suppose that when we had global cooling in the 70's all the liberals decide to light up their joints and other illegal drugs to warm things up a bit.
Has anyone besides me noticed that this country has gone completely crazy since Roe vs Wade?
To bad that global warming is a myth, this world needs to be burnt down so that God can start all over again.

No one disputes the fact that the earth goes through warming and cooling cycles. Now, for a non-scientist you seem pretty sure that man is not having an effect of the climate of this planet. To think we are not is pretty naive. We are putting a lot of poisons into our atmosphere and there has to be some negative effect, other than cancer and respiratory ailments. If you doubt that, sit in your garage with the door closed and the car running (don't be stupid and actually do that as you will die).

Nobody was held accountable for all the scare of the massive global cooling (also caused by pollution) that was happening 30 years ago. And it was a scare. I was in grade school then and they had us kids terrified about it.
Give it about 5 more years and this man made theory will fall apart. It'll get quiet for a while, and viola! We'll have man made global cooling again.

Man kind is partially to blame for the warming cycle. However man kind should also beware that continuing to forge ahead with excess pollution in the atmosphere will hurt this planet. Gas guzzling SUV's are not helping. Americans in particular are funny claiming that they NEED these cars just like cell phones. Funny, nobody needed either 15-20 years ago. Now they are a status symbol. Aren't we sad?

They will certainly look like fools, if they dont already. History will look at them and say "wow those guys sure were dumb, why didnt they know any better when they had true science available to them the whole time!?!"
But then in future generations, the libs will make the same mistakes, just with a different issue. History always repeats itself. Liberals like to follow any philosophy as long as it ultimately serves their goal of remolding society into their image.

But we need to do something to ensure that humankind doesn't have bad times when it starts hitting harder than it already is. Africa is seeing lots of migration northward to Europe because of massive droughts killing huge tracts of land. So... we sit here on our hands? What about if there's a mass migration northward from South America here? What about making sure that water sources, food, land, are secure? What about Russia making claim over the Arctic by dropping a metal flag on the bottom of the floor? We need to deal with these things, if they are man made or not.

Well no one has proved this is a natural cycle or not.
I think the main question is not is the planet screwed..because the planet will be fine. It is HUMANS that will be screwed.
So even if natural same situation.
anyway considering the anti-global warming crowd are the same people that have been committing frauds that have cost billions upon billions of dollars as well as hundreds of thousands of lives and have had no penalty in any way, shape, or form..then no...no liability

It'll either flood, or the Earth will desiccate due to drought.
The temps will either rise, or the Earth will become a snowcone.
Tangible, factual, and PROVABLE evidence means nothing to the sanctimonious set (read: libs)
