I'd have to say LP too. Eventhough I don't think that their new studio album, "Minutes To Midnight", has got a heavy sound like the previous two ("Hybrid Theory" & "Meteora"). And I would say that KoRn is pretty good too.

Nu-metal was wierd cause it was kind of a hit or miss genre, either you put out a classic album or it was just HORRIBLE.
If I had to pick a single band to be called the best I'd say Deftones, if anything just because they released White Pony and to a lesser extent Around the Fur, f*ucking incredible albums.

Linkin Park (Hybrid Theory and Meteora) -
their new album is ****, i'm not going to pretend that's it still linkin park, it's just another example of Nu-Metal/Rap-metal bands trying to cash in on being potilically conscious and dropping 'the rap thing' cause it's not cool anymore, Papa roach and Finger eleven did the same thing, now they blow as.s and released pathetic albums.

Either Korn or the Deftones. Linkin Park really needed to put out a stronger effort for their 3rd album to truly be up there.

Rage Against the Machine, if you wanna call them that. I fnot, then Linkin Park is good. So is Korn and System of a Down. I'm really feeling System right now. "Sugar" is so awesome!

Even as a fan Linkin Park's early stuff I can't even consider them Nu Metal let alone any type of Metal for that matter no matter what wikipedia say's about 'em.
My favorites in that genre are Sevendust, Skinlab & Spineshank (now Silent Civilian)
