ATLANTA - Baggy pants that show boxer shorts or thongs would be illegal under a proposed amendment to Atlanta's indecency laws. The amendment, sponsored by city councilman C.T. Martin, states that sagging pants are an "epidemic" that is becoming a "major concern" around the country.

Never mind all those human rights violations, dangerous crimes like murder, robbery and rape...

GET THOSE BAGGY PANTS WEARERS!

All those rules will do is just make such clothing more attractive to people who don't want to be told what to do in their personal lives.

The same thing happened back in the 40s with the Zoot Suits. *sigh*

I don't like the look, I think it's beyond trashy but that's just my opinion and I think it's stupid to add it to indecency laws. It's such hypocrisy. Young girls can walk around with midriff tops barely covering their breasts and shorts with strategic holes and their butt cheeks hanging out and nobody does anything but sigh (or gawk if they're a man) as they walk by. Women wear bathing suits that are nothing but butt floss with postage stamps over their breasts and that's A-okay. But baggy pants showing boxers and the tops of thongs are ringing so many bells they have to make a law against it? Please.

You would think they have something better to do wouldn't you? We do however have decency laws on the books, woman can't go around shirtless and men can't go around pant-less and most of us don't complain about those laws. Quite frankly I like one of the Congressman suggestions that just have all the adults adopt the look for a while and the whole thing will fade away fast.

I think that baggy pants are irritating, but I sort of think that such a law would belong on a long list of weird, antiquated laws that can be found all over the US. For example,it kind of reminds me of a law in Arkansas that states that alligators can't be kept in bathtubs.

Two cities in my home state of Louisiana have joined in this.

I don't know where I come down on this. I really don't care to see someone's entire butt showing, but I hate to see laws against it, too.

That reminds me of an extremely funny story...My neighbors son whom I call Droopy Drawers, was ticketed 2 weekends ago when his pants dropped below his boxers and a police officer accused him of trying to "moon" him! hahahaha
These "droopy" pants are just plain silly...but they are a fashion not a crime...

Baggy pants can look stupid... but it is hardly something that should be legislated!

Any politician that things it can or should be should not hold office!

NO! I like baggy pants. Not to where my underwear shows, but, I'm not wearing crotch hugging Levi's!

I don't exactly think that the government is going to be able to tell us how to wear our pants. That has communism written all over it.
