justify the transfer of inhabited Palestine to Jews who were largely from Europe.

I do have the answer and it is that no one has yet given a reason.

To justify a return based on a 2,000 year history is laughable and sophmoric...need I use the Native American analogy...and that's not 2,000 years ago.

And of course.....the accusations of anti-semitisim is predictable. Can't criticize the Jews, but free to call the Arabs backwards.

Since the same God later gave the jews over to their captivity and allowed others to occupy that land it stands to reason that it was no longer their land and that promise was not the U.S. governments real justification for giving it back to them.

It was a response in part to pressure by misinformed Christians who still believed that the jews were the chosen people. It also served the U.S government very well by allowing them a foothold in the region since Israel was not in a position to say no to any US request.

Both of those mindsets are still in place today, but the latest revelations concerning Christian thinking are the scariest, of course. They believe that Israel will annoint the anti-christ in the temple in Jerusalem before the end takes place and the christians all get to go to heaven. They are working hard behind the scenes to make it all happen. They are taking up donations to remove the Dome of the rock and replace it with the rebuilt jewish temple. They are responsible for the home loan guarantees that the U.S. provides to build the jews new houses - many of which are built in land the U.S. recognizes as occupied land belonging to the palestinians.

The fact that Israel is now becoming so powerful and so arrogant should also cause some concern. Their weapons technology is beginning to exceed even our own thanks to the billions of dollars in military financing we provide each year.

There is no "stripping out" the truth, sorry.

Plus, the myth of a "Palestine" was invented by disgruntled Arabs to try to delegitimize Israel, and the promise you reference.

Those so-called "Palesinians" let the land deteriorate over thousands of years, like a pack of nerds.

Also, look at the size of the Jewish homeland on the map below, if you can find it with your magifying glass. And when do find it, not that the top portion is Lebanon, not Israel.

The vast surrounding Arab countries are mostly unfriendlies who can't stand the tiny space of the Jews, and want drive them into the seas.

Visualizing this tends to put things into perspective.

Easily.

The Jews made up the majority of the population in the area of the Palestinian mandate set up to be a Jewish state by the United Nations.

In addition to the fact their were hundreds of thousands of Jews waiting to immigrate but were unable to due to restrictions placed by the British government.

As such Israel was created though the natural right of a separate group of people who wish to form a sovern nation in the territory where they make up the majority of the population.

see no mention of religion or or 2,000 year old claims.

Survival of the fittests. The Jews obviously want Israel more than the Arabs. Anyways according to your logic, all the Arabs should go back to the Arabian Peninsula

Largely from Europe? They were the inhabitants of Israel 2,000 years ago. Where have you been? Also, one of the lessons of The Holocaust is that the Jewish people need a country of their own.

give me a break..If the bible is true, then Jews are to inhabit that land

if the bible is a fairy tale, the Jews are the only culture to do something good with the land over the centuries

Either way, the Jews belong there and your anti-Semitism is showing

I suspect that no argument in favor of the Jewish state will be acceptable to you as your question smacks of anti sematism, and bigotry.
