One of the initial goals of the invasion of Iraq was for the U.S. to rapidly establish a stable and free democracy based on the rule of law. Then, the Iraqi people would thank us for our efforts and the Middle East becomes a safer and more stable place. But of course things did not work out that way. The US involvement in the region has had huge consequences for the Middle East. In history it will show that Iraqis resisted US influences and continued to carry out attacks on US troops. Iraqis will continue to mount resistance against the US occupation and carry out massive protests against anything American.

I believe a democracy form of government where the majority rule is not best for the Middle East. A republic is more suitable for the Middle East.

Only if we stay the course. People say that we are the reason there is conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan. But look at the whole picture not what you hear and see on the news. Iraq will be a better place when the book is closed and the middle east will be better for what it will become. there will never be an end to terrorists but controlling them is what will make the area safer.

The only thing that can make the middle east a better place is the people who live there. Outside interference won't work. Ridicule of them and their culture won't work. Theres is a culture that seems to be holding onto ideals that seem ancient to the rest of us. When they are ready for democracy, I'm sure we will know. Until then, maybe we should just let them run their nations as they see fit, with the understanding that extremeism will not be tolerated anywhere beyond their own borders. If they bring it here, we take it to them.

History will show the U.S. involvement in Iraq to be a classic cluster fck. It will become a timeless training tool on how not to fight a war or occupy a country.
It willalso prove to be the lowest point in the U.S. military where civillian leaders forced our seinor military officers to lie and accept defeat for the good of the administration but at the expense of Americans.

Ok since most of the middle east hate the fact that the U.S. has troops station in there countries and there undying support of Israel, making Iraq a democratic place will only mean one thing. They will hate us much less then everyone else.

Unfortunately everyone will have to wait to best judge the results too many people today judge history by what happen last week they have no perspective in looking at past patterns going over centuries. To ask a question like this lacks perspective and it is left up to the silly response of the short attention span generation.

Yes , And if we do the job correctly. The world will benefit from a stable and transformed middle east full of vibrant and productive democracies. Save Israel of course the only true democracy in that otherwise primitive and volatile region.
